I think I'll look for replies to this one also. I may be in a similar
situation and am curious what's out there. But Jim, bear in mind that there
is a bewildering myriad of choices depending on what needs to be charged,
i.e. how large is the house bank and what type of batteries, wet cell, AGM
or gel.
In my particular case I have two GR31 wet cell batteries linked in parallel
for a total of approx 200+ amp hours for my house bank.
To add to the confusion there are several units out there which are
combination chargers/inverters. The issue will come up as to whether we
want just a charge or also an inverter to run small A/C appliances and how
smart or dumb that may be based on the total capacity of the house bank.
Lots of choices. I can't wait for responses.
Ain't boating fun?
