Fred, you need to replace the flapper valves. Get a rebuild kit. Water may
have frozen inside the pump. If the valve seats are metal, they may have
corroded and require scraping with a screwdriver blade. I had a similar
Whale pump and placed a strainer/ foot valve on the end of the intake. It
prevent the contents of the hose from flowing back into the bilge and makes
    priming easier.

    | Hello Folks,
    |
    | I have a Henderson manual bolge pump mounted in my cockpit. I have not
used it in a year or more. This weekend I tried it but gave |up after 15
minutes of pumping the handle. Not certain of the rated GPH but it has a 1 &
    1/4" hose.
    |
    | Someone said it may have to be primed. How do I do this?
    |
    | Someone else said it needs to be rebuilt.
    |
    | Any suggestions?
    |
    | Thanks,
