Most of the raw water cooled Yanmars I am aware of are of the YSM family
and those one lung beasts are at least 25 years old.
The discharge water is well below 120F.
I replumbed one to use the hot exhaust water to heat potable water before
it was mixed with the excess cold raw water and sent to the mixing elbow.
I knew exactly what I was doing and it worked quite well; however, I also
had the necessary instrumentation to do the job properly.
Make a mistake and you have an engine rebuild on your hands.
