Well, now Tim has the rest of the world wondering what "MRE" means! Maritime
Republic of Eastport - a rebellious ghetto of Annapolis which is attempting
to secede by winning an annual tug of war. I did some EU2000 checking and
find that it runs about $939 to $999 with some folks offering free shipping.
Some testers have the highest compliments for its inverter which is
sine-wave. Its continuous rating is 1600W and, amazingly, its sound level is
58db!!!!! So, for what it is, it's very good. I have to wonder about its
longevity running 8 hours a night - if you get up and refuel it.

BTW, some previous posts highlighted the noise and vibration of another
brand's single cylinder diesel generator. I'd make sure about these issues
on every brand of compact generator. I don't think that you've included
Panda and NextGen for a start.

When I had a sailboat on the steaming Chesapeake, one Summer we had to seek
refuge in a marina in Oxford to run the A/C. At anchor, we rigged awnings
fore and aft and stopped-up the scuppers and flooded the high bulwarked
decks with bay water. We also hosed down the cabin top to cool it off. Big
difference. As Arild points out, a good investment in some high-efficiency
insulation would bring an excellent return. My first target would be the
cabin overhead. I hope that your boat has a white or very light colored
hull! Underway, we ran an engine room exhaust blower full time for our fresh
water cooled, 32hp Kubota. Finally, we had 4 Hella 12V fans throughout - big
    difference.

We lusted after a generator, but the Crealock 37 has very little machinery
space. Which is one reason why I am getting a trawler.
