Hi Bill,
Not too sure about a surveyor in the Tampa area. I would contact a different broker and get a list of available surveyors and then call them. We just shipped our boat from Mobile to the Chesapeake. We only draw 4'8" but I have friends that have shipped bigger boats. We used Deep water Transports 800-382-2628 (Kelley) and got a really good price. You could also call Nation Wide Yacht Transports 888-546-0033 (Boyd) for a price. There is one other line we know about Joule but they were the most expensive.
Good luck
Fred

Hi, all. I'm just about to make the move to become a real liveaboard. I'm beginning to make offers.
My first boat to consider is a Morgan 426, but my broker tells me because it draws 6 feet, I have to have it delivered by a delivery Capt.. because it can't be shipped by truck.
The boat is in St. Pete and needs to go to the northern Chesapeake. Any body have any idea how long a delivery captain would take to sail that far and how much it would cost? Also anyone know of a good surveyor in Tampa area they can recommend. Someone who will not only point out what needs to be done, but give some advice on how to do it.
Getting back to the main question. How can I get this boat to the Chesapeake and how much will it cost. Also when does the delivery season begin?
Thanks
Bill Wright
