    Good advice.

    There's no reason to truck it to the Chesapeake, either do it
    yourself, or hire a delivery Captain.

    If you do it yourself, don't bother with the Gulf ICW -- go outside.

    If you intend to go via the Oceechobee, then double and triple check
    the controlling depths at the time, or more likely go around; if you
    go around add 3 - 5 days.

    As far as time of year goes, it depends where in the Chesapeake
    you're going, but the South Chesapeake wouldn't be pleasant, but it
    could be done almost anytime -- in theory. But, this is already a
    cold winter. I have gone outside North to NYC in late November, and
    can attest it's no fun.
