    Hi,

When I used to come in from work in the afternoon, I'd
sit on the back deck of my boat with a glass of wine
in my hand and watch the seagulls ride the thermals
coming off the roof of the adjoining condominium. I
really learned to appreciate what outstanding fliers
    they were.

I watched them land on the top of some of the dock
pilings (bollards) and came to appreciate where
skydivers got their landing techniques. Seagulls are
sooooo good at zeroing in on a target. They do it so
well and so smoothly. It's really incredible.

Then there're the spectacular sunsets that happen
after the passing of a cool (cold) front. I've taken
a lot of pictures of them.

The most spectacular, though, are the times my wife
and I are able to sit out on the back deck with a
glass of champagne and watch the full moon rise with
its moonglade on the water. It is undescribable.

We've lived aboard of more than 7 years (since I
turned 60), and, if I have my way I will live on the
water for the rest of my life.

BTW there are 30 condominium units that face the
marina and only about 2 of the residents get out on
their balconies to enjoy the things I've talked about.

    I also own a 4 bedroom home with a fireplace and a
patio that is currently empty (has been for almost a
year), and I still prefer to live this kind of life.

I've been retired for the past 3 years, I have no
pension coming in from any of the companies I've
worked for and live primarily on social security. My
wife does work and her income helps. This lifestyle
enables us to live without having to worry about how
we're going to pay the rent or put groceries on table.

You can look at one side of living on a boat, I prefer
to look at the good side.

    Regards,

    Stan
