Yeah I am familiar with the VHF/SSB/HAM "cruiser net" as well.
But I know that this one was an online/email forum.
I guess I will just have to search harder...thanks for your reply.

My own experience with a "cruisers net" isn't an on-line deal but a specific
VHF, SSB, or HAM freq that cruising folks - while actually out cruising -
check in with each day. Usually most nets are active in the morning with
various cruisers double checking enroute weather, specific activities for
the day in a given location such as pot-luck beach dinners, stuff like that.
A lot of time there will be a specific net freq for a cruising flotilla or
regatta (think the OPO "NARC" or Jimmy Cornell's ARC) to call in on each
morning for each boat to give an update on boat conditions, incidents which
may have occurred during the overnight portion of the cruise.
Essentially, the difference between this type of forum and a "net" is this
discussion is via email and the net is through SSB, HAM, or VHF.
