Interesting you should post this.
At this very moment, am constructing a mold involving some very complex
compound curves.
Framed in some 1x4 timbers to get a basic shape, then used some cans of
Dow Chemical "Great Stuff", poly foam in an aerosol can, to close the
gaps between the timbers.
Used a surf form plane to knock off the high spots, followed by some
plaster of paris to fill the voids and duct tape to establish the final
surface.
Once that is done, a couple of coats of "oops" paint from Home Depot (
$1/quart stuff) to seal everything followed by liberal coatings of mold
release.
Then it's time to get serious and lay some glass.
