Scare tactics. The Congress has been considering a ban on imported teak from
Burma, due to Burmese human rights violations. The marine lobby got some
relief included in the law. Plus, there are other sources of good teak in
South and Central America.

Aren't you in the Baltimore area? Have you tried Exotic Wood in Annapolis?
There is also a teak supplier in Wilmington, DE who sells on Ebay.
