Hi folks, I was following this thread since I need to re-do all the stauntion bases on our boat soon, and the info shared is great. But I did miss out on what type of sealant to use. Is 3M 101 good? It will be for fiberglass deck.

Also along this line, our old stauntion bases often filled with water after lots of rain. So on the new ones we thought to leave a space (tunnel?) in the sealant to allow drainage. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, it is a great resource for us newbies.

    Margie

      Hello all,

What type of sealer should be used to rebed stanchion bases? I was thinking a Sika Flex. Anyone have any experience as to what number to use?

      Thanks, Ron O.
