    A word of catuion.
We used to install these bag phones on commercial fishing boats working up
to 50 miles offshore. We put a remote anenna up high in the rigging. The
problem with this is the phone can't reduce the power enough at the dock.
The transmitter automatically adusts output power to the minimum level
required to reach the adjacent cells but with the high efficiency of the
antenna in the rigging they were picking up dozens of cells for miles around
at the very lowest output. The phone company would close their account and
send a warning letter to stop interference. This was many years ago so I'm
sure the problem has been aggravated as the cells get smaller and smaller.,
The solution was to replace the external antenna with the little standard
    stubby when close to shore.
    Colin Foster,

    >I have one of the Motorola bag phones in my boat. I pay ATT wireless
service $19.95 a month plus $10 a >month for unlimited nights and weekend
use in South Florida. This phone has the best connection for emails that >I
have ever used. I find myself unable to throw it away.
