Although I have done this, I believe it's Illegal in the US to do so. I never asked for anything so I wasn't selling it but, occasionally a case of beer would show up. :)
I am live-aboard in training. I live in an RV, a lot of the same issues. I was on this list many years ago and I am just getting back on.

Do what I do, install a DSL line, then put in an 802.11b wireless network, then sell internet service to the boaters around you. I get most of my dsl paid for this way.
