A lot depends on how you are going to charge the batteries.
If you charge them by running a motor, genset or main engine, then get a
bigger RO unit and you can run it while you charge the batteries. The
charging rate is limited by how hard you can push the charging current, so if
you have a big alternator you can charge the batteries at max with enough
left over for the RO.
If you are going to use solar panels then it may be better to go with a super
efficient unit like the Spectra and run it while the sun shines.
I don't have any definitive advice on this but these thoughts are a start.
