We loved Maine and anchored everywhere, took no moorings. Main complaint we
heard was that some places were crowded in the summertime (as usual, we were
    running late).

Holding is about the same as everywhere, some places have tender bottoms and
some are more secure. We had no particular problems.

We felt welcome wherever we went. Even had a lobsterman come alongside and
give us free lobsters in Vinalhaven!
