I can't say it any better than Norm has.
Our first winter aboard I observed that the only really important news
was the weather. (This was during the aftermath of the 2000 elections
- we'd voted by absentee ballot before we left. Somewhere about
Wrightsville Beach I stopped caring who won).
When you are on board, the natural world is the major imperative - for
the other stuff, there's always tomorrow.
