Don't know anything about Florida but some about
PR and USVI:
St. Thomas is cheap to shop but expensive to buy.
I am in PR right now, on the east end of the island
where the marinas are in abundance. If you have to
work and drive to San Juan on a daily basis you are better
off to find a place there (no boat), also the Atlantic coast
of PR doesn't have many good marinas. You will find some of the
best sailing waters and marinas on the east cost of PR, where live is
a little slower than the metropolitan area (San Juan/Bayamon/Carolina
are probably ~3.5 million people).
Contact me if you want to find out details...

Subject: lv-ab: Liveaboard marinas
Greetings,
I have the opportunity to relocate from Miami to one of several
locations and I am looking for opinions on good liveaboard-friendly marinas.
The available locations are:
Sarasota, FL
San Juan, PR
St. Thomas, USVI
W. Palm Beach, FL
Cocoa, FL
Tampa, FL
Any and all opinions based on first hand experience will be welcome.
They want a decision by the end of the week.
Thanks in advance,
Joe Murray
