Long hours, hard work, low pay. That is, until you get the sea time,
experience and certifications for pumper, captain, etc. Then the pay
goes up. Here's one site where you can look for positions on
recreational yachts. http://www.7knots.com/index.html
If you're interested in commercial, look up your local marine union
hall, go join the union and they can probably get you a deckhand
position.

I would like to ask the list for recommendations and actions in changing my
career to one involving travel and the sea. At this point I have no notion
of exactly what I would do, but if it involves travel and the sea I would
consider myself fortunate. I would appreciate advice from only those with
professional experience, I can speculate for myself. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Craig
