Our Kyocera panels are working perfectly, and here in Europe are good value
for money. One 80W panel is mounted across our davits. It can be tilted fore
and aft. Two more panels are mounted in aluminum brackets on the cabintop.
We're installing a foredeck panel later. Have so far worked fine during
fifty+ knots of wind and some serious pounding, but this is in relatively
sheltered baltic waters. Kyoceras panels seem to be strongly built, and
connection boxes are large and completely waterproof so far.

Just now though the panels are of no use, covered in ice and snow. Sigh...

I am thinking about adding solar panels to my Whitby 42 ketch to help with
battery charging and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation regarding
brands ( wind generation is not an option due to the mizzen boom length). I
would also like recommendations regarding placement. My initial thoughts
were to buy a 150 watt double panel unit from ICPGLOBAL.com and mount them
across the davits. My major concern is potential damage from following seas.
Area of cruising will be Norway to South America.
