My apologies if this thread has already been discussed.
I am looking at buying a sewing machine for sail repair and to fabricate a
dodger, enclosure, cockpit cushions, etc.
I did make a dodger with a home machine, but I killed the machine trying to
sew through multiple layers of sunbrella, and the stiching looks terrible
because the machine was not powerful enough. The dodger fits fine, but I
want to make it again with a better machine.
I have seen the sailrite at &699.00. It looks like a good machine, but I'd
like to be sure before plunking down the $. Also, I wonder if it's made
elsewhere and just labeled by sailrite? (If you know where it's made, email
off list!)
Maybe I should be looking for a reasonably priced industrial machine?
Thoughts?
Jeff
