Verizon no longer has an agreement in the Bahamas. I checked just
last month. They just privatized BATELCO, so maybe that has something
to do with it. Even last year (winter 2001-2002) you couldn't use a
US issued phone card in the Bahamas, whereas the previous year I could
use a SAMs card (although a 500 minute card would give me less than 30
minutes in the Bahamas).
