    I don't understand why. The Bahamas have a digital network but it uses a
    standard (TMDA I think) that is not compatable with Verizons. Verizon does
    have a roaming agreement with the Bahamas. Since your Verizon phone will
    only operate in Analog mode in the Bahamas it does not seem that a tri mode
    would make any difference. You can get a lot better rates with a tri-mode
    phone and the coverage is better but I don't see it making any difference
    in the Bahamas.
