I would leave the gun back home.
It might be a good idea to have the parrot implanted with a microchip to prove the bird is the same one that left the States with you. Of course the paper work for the microchip should be brought with you.
Check with Dept. of Agr. to tell them what you intend to do.
This could save you grief on your return.
You will have to quarantine the bird on your return in a Dept. of Agr. station.
