Better go check with Detroit Colin.

I went through this earlier in the year; Delo 400 was my "oil of choice" as
it was universally ok for all the engines I had on board.

Well, they changed the formulation sometime around the turn of the year, and
    withdrew the "CF-2" certification!

I looked into it, and found that Detroit has a sulfated ash specification of
a MAXIMUM of 1.0%, with a desired of 0.85% or less.

Delo 100 meets this, and Delo 400 USED to meet the former (but not the
    latter.)

After talking to Detroit Diesel about this in depth, the reason for the
sulfated ash specification has to do with the exhaust valves. If you use an
oil that has too high of a sulfated ash percentage then you will find that
the valves will form excessive deposits on the seating surfaces over time
(hundreds of hours) and fail to properly seal - and subsequently burn.

I am aware of NO synthetic oil that meets either the straight-grade mandate
    OR the sulfated ash requirement.

Detroit's oil requirement specification can be found in both the service and
    operation manuals.

(My 2-strokes burn about a quart every 25-30 hours or so. I usually
add a half-gallon to each side between changes on 100-hour intervals.)
