    It depends on your "efficiency" definition, David. While they lose a very
    small amount of fuel efficiency due to the effectiveness of ejecting the
    exhaust gasses completely and some energy to run the blower, they are nearly
    twice as efficient for size since each cylinder puts out twice the energy of
    a 4 stroke.

    Many manufacturers of synthetic oil DO claim it is more slippery and that it
    will improve mpg.
