HOW TO OPEN EXPLORER on your data disk without having to close C: and select
it every time.
OK, I think this one will work OK on XP.
This will open explorer for you displaying some disk other than C.
Right click anywhere on your desktop and on the popup, select new, then
select shortcut
You will get some kind of a wizard or entry box asking for the location of
the item for which you want to create a shortcut.
In that box enter
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,d:
where in this case d: is the disk you want it to open on. Change this
letter for another disk.
save the shortcut after creating and drag it down onto your toolbar line.
If you want to open a particular folder every time on that other disk, add
the \foldername.
if you have problems try:-
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e,/select,d:
If it can't find explorer with these, then locate the physical disk address
of explorer.exe and substitute that literal address for the %SystemRoot%
part.
Good luck,
Colin
