I had the same experience with my last Magma grill. It worked great for one
season. I always cleaned it after each use and a very good cleaning before I
put it away for the season. The next season, when I uncovered it, all of the
inside parts, except the grating, were rusted so badly that only rust powder
existed. It looked like someone had shot it with a "ray" gun and pulverized
    it.
I do not plan on buying another grill that needs replacement or replacement
    parts on an annual basis.

I just had a frustrating conversation with Magma. Below is a copy of the
note I sent to Practical Sailor. Don't know if they'll print it, but if I
were in the market for a BBQ I'd read Practical Sailor's review and not buy
    Magma.

"I read with interest your recent review of BBQ's. As my 1 1/2 year old
Magma propane model had never worked very well and was quickly getting
worse, I disassembled it to find that the screen and deflector had
completely disintegrated. What was left was their rusty remains, so I
concluded that these parts were not stainless. A call to Magma resulted in
the locations of local West Marine stores (as if I couldn't find my way
there on my own). I was told that the parts were expected to rust through
and that's why parts were available. I wish I could get away with a
statement like that on my job."
