The brine output flow rate meter on my 25gph Village Marine watermaker runs
    between 1.2 and 2.0 gpm.

.75 gpm would not make it.

I use Home Depot filter housings and buy the filter elements mail-order. Try
FarmTek.com or just shop around. They seem to run $3.50 to $4.50 in cases of
    25.

Or you could buy them from Village Marine for $15 each.

BTW Village Marine is trying to charge me $350 for a "lifetime guarantee"
part, the HP pump head which they destroyed by installing a BRASS fitting to
block an unused HP port in a pumphead with titanium block and stainless
interior parts. (I later found out, whilst replacing the leaking "Lifetime
guaranteed" membrane housings, that Village Marine also used plated brass
flare-to-pipe adapters in the HP circuit. Maybe the slivery look of the
metal combined with the low price compared to 316 corrupted those folks. The
interior of the brass fittings were heavily corroded. I sent them back and
another miracle - they replaced them with 316 at no cost to me!) The galvanic
corrosion resulting damaged the stainless spring clips in the three piston
bores. The clip closest to the brass plug was completely gone, the center
one in pieces, and the one furthest from the brass plug only somewhat gone.
Village Marine says the replacement period of the internal seals, etc., is
1500 hours and should be replaced and that is what they say the $350 is for.
I explained that the unit only has 400 some odd hours on the hour meter but
they ignore me and say that the charge stands.

I have explained the situation to the lady at the credit card number. It was
another miracle. She perfectly understood the situation, refunded my money
and said she would have a talk with Village Marine about the situation.
