    Uh, Fred, my mileage varied (as the saying goes). :)

    We too, have AT$T wireless. Ours worked just fine "between Norfolk and
    Jacksonville".

    Of course, there are times when you are out of range of a participating
    tower, but I do not believe there is ANY cell provider that guarantees 100%
    geographical coverage.
