I'm not a Medic, but after 17 years of cross-country motorcycle racing, I'm
pretty familiar with the other side of the bandages
Just to add a little fuel to the fire, has anyone else used an ointment
called Furacin on burns and wounds? A while back an exhaust mounting
bracket on my motorcycle broke early in a long race, and to prevent the loss
of the pipe (and the horsepower, since it was a 2-stroke), I held the pipe
on with my leg to finish the race.
The result was a deep 3rd degree burn. Had them before, but never that bad.
The doc prescribed Furacin, and I coundn't believe how quickly it healed,
with very little (now completely gone) scarring. Found out later Furacin is
cheaper, and can be bought without prescription, in Mexico. Now I keep it
in the medicine cabinet, awaiting my next dumb stunt.
