I'm just replying to ask you to please at least summarize the replies you get for the list or mail me separately. I am also very interested what YOU find inside the battery case. I am sitting here with a similar situation involving a pre-cambrian Apple
PowerBook which I kept on the boat for a few years and it now won't turn on (possibly because of neglect and subsequent dead NiCads).
Good luck with your bleeding hand - try an old Wicca recipé for speedy healing: Urinate on the wound. Worked for the Druids, works for me, might work for a sailing Viking....
