Marinized usually means an extra dip of insulating varnish on the stator
which is the same as tropicalized and at one time added about %5 to the
price just to cover the aggravation.

If you truly want a heavy duty alternator, find the Leece-Neville dealer
in your area and check out the 4800 family.

This will typically be the electrical dealer who serves the heavy duty
    truck/bus market.

It the give you absolutely no discount from list, it will still be less
than $400 US, for a unit that has 120A output at 2,000 alternator RPM.

The one caveat, you must use a dual groove sheave drive to handle the
    torque at low RPM.
