Our experience with a bent anchor (165lb Danforth) was that after the shop
straightened it for us, it was never as tough, and unless the tips of the
blades are EXACTLY aligned it won't set. Even with blades about 30" long,
if the tips weren't within 1/4 inch of alignment, one tip would start to
catch before the other and the anchor would pivot around that point and fail
to set. I suspect the shop had to use a torch on it to be able to
straighten it and the heat treatment was never reproduced to provide
strength. We replaced it with a 120lb Bruce anchor - you CAN'T bend those
suckers.
