The Hitachi part is true, but I do in fact have a double sheave though the alternator is only using one sheave.

Since I have a double sheave, would 80 amps be OK? We have to remember the engine also has to move the boat... There are several generic alternators available around 80 A, but I haven't found any at 55 - 60 A in the stores here in Norway that will fit the Yanmar.
