hey norm...i'm curious...a merchant marine guy has been building a 72
foot glass sailboat for the past 14 years nearby...very nice guy...very
competant it seems...invited me aboard to peek at his work...WOW...boat
just fits in his yard...urban city in se massachusetts...9 months on..9
months off...family orientated cape verdian people...what a great
advantage to ply the world's waters finding those items along the way
that you will need in your construction....deal making at it's
finest...i thought lew and i were pretty good at that kind of thing, but
we are just beginners compared to a MM officer that has 20 years to
collect the perfect piece of mahogony in bali or that ideal bronze
fitting in hong kong for his boatbuilding project...almost free and no
shipping charges...might you have come accros this guy?...he is just
about to retire or did retire this past year? ...we all enjoy your great
additions to this list, but i, for one, would love to here some of those
old anedotale merchant marine stories? ...you also began your
construction project while still plying the oceans, did you not? ...you
must have some interesting tid-bit tales that you don't think folks
would care about, but i would venture others would enjoy a tale once in
a while...just a thought here in brrrrrrrr february...doug
