If Islanding, sure, you can do anything.
If you could actually push a big alternator faster than the national grid
that it was connected to everything I understand about electricity says you
would either trip out the unit or the thunder and lightening would be
spectacular. The equilivant of a chain slipping on a sprocket - but at the
same horsepower as the generator.
