Okay, so I get the "DUH" award this week. Actually I have a DMM (see, I've
learned the lingo!) on the boat. Anyway, I called Standard and asked if I
would fry the unit with reverse polarity. The short answer is no since they
have "stuff" build it to it to protect it when dummies like me hook it up
backward. The only thing that will happen is "nothing", as in it won't turn
on. So that solves that problem.
I also asked whether C-MAP has a Street Map cartridge similar to Garmin's
Blue Chip to use the plotter in the car but unfortunately the answer was no.
