It's called a DC power supply. If your gps draws an amp or less, a
simple wall wart for $5 or so will do, if it draws much more than that
you'll have to find a bigger supply like the ones made by Pyramid,
Samlex and Astron.
For example a Samlex 13.8 v 3 amp (5 amp surge) can be bought for about

The wall warts can be found lots of places, Radio Shack, Jameco
(https://www.jameco.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/Jameco/home.d2w/report?cgrfnbr=779&ctgys=503;528;779;)
etc.
