BlankWelcome, skinwalker. It seems to me like you have solved the major
problem. If you've found a boat that Capt'n Lynnie likes you're way ahead
of the game already. That's usually the first stumbling block.

    Colin Foster,

I am a new guy. I typically lurk. I am coming out.

Capt'n Lynnie and skinwalker have been thinking trawler cruising for ten
years. We intend to slip moorings in three years.

The last few months we have been looking at and evaluating many types of
    boats ranging from 38-44'.

Recently we ran across two Marine Trader 49's, which I am sure most of you
know has twin 120's and a pilothouse etc.

Last week Capt'n Lynnie left previewing the second and silently got into our
vehicle, shut the door and screamed I WANT THIS ONE!! Always attentive to
the subtleness of the Capt'n we wrote the contract which was accepted.

Hence I feel comfortable, subject to the survey which we believe will be
just fine, that we will have a respectable trawler.

I am sure over the next few months we will be milking the archives and this
list for as much info as possible.

Does anyone care to comment about our pending purchase? Suggestions related
to Trawling? or things we should next consider? I know probably too open
    ended of a question.

It is our intent to live aboard, get use to the systems, take longer and
longer trips until we leave in three years.

I appreciate the information that I have used in finding this boat. As an
example. We have chosen wisely a hull and engine survery off this list.

Thanks to all of you for your unknown support of our efforts.

    skinwalker
