When we checked into the Bahamas at Chub Cay almost a year ago to the day, they charged us a flat $100 fee for everything, bur did not care about VHF licenses. We found VHF is used for commercial as
well as recreational and safety reasons. Georgetown and Marsh Harbour both have morning VHF nets operated by cruisers which broadcast weather information, buy and sell items, requests for: assistance,
crew, buddy boats and lots more but no mention of fees. Reciprocal Ham licenses are different thing and can take weeks to get from whichever is the latest beaurocracy to have responsibility. I suspect
that many people just stick the bahamian call letters in front of their call signs.
