    The only leaking fuel tank installed on a boat that I have replaced was
    aluminum.

    The way to keep fuel tanks from corrroding on the inside is to keep water out
    of them. This is best done by the use of a well at the bottom-most point of
    the tank with fuel drawn from the bottom of the well.
