Note: I haven't figured out how to respond with a quote from the previous post in pocketmail without forwarding the message to the list.
I got ONE copy of this email with the list and P-Y listed as the receipants. So I think the 2 copies you got were the one for the list and the personal one for you.
Generally, I get 2 copies of any messages that I've responded to, where the person responding has also responded to the list although I've been getting 2 messages from someone- can't remember who- on threads which I know I've not said anything.
When I respond to the whole list, most of the time I try to trim all but the OP or the most proximate poster.
