Also, the tank should have the tare weight (empty weight), and capacity
stamped on it. By next spring, in order to get a tank filled in the US, it
will have to be equipped with an OPD (overfill prevention device). This new
regulation was apparently brought about by just the sort of imprecise filling
you describe, which could leave too little expansion room in the tank (leave
it out in the sun and it could burst).
