Several times I wanted to continue on the ICW at night, but worried about
hitting a marker piling, they just show up suddenly. I plotted a night
course for the wide section of Mosquito Lagoon near Cape Canaveral,
discovered more obstacles, hundreds of fishing boats, some still, some at 30
MPH. NONE WITH LIGHTS! Enforcement of nav laws seems a little slack here.
I pulled out of the channel and anchored. BTY, an old friend, Gwinn
Leverett, runs the cable TV and hardware store in Belhaven, say hello to him
for me. Are you using those complimentary golf carts?
As to my travels...We were unable to go offshore on the way to Florida due
to reported swells from Hurricane Olga, not sure if they really existed
though. Traveling only daytime in the ICW, we did not have time to wait for
a Bahamas weather window. The boat awaits my return at a free dock that
belongs to an old friend of my mother, near Melbourne. I'll have more time
    at the end of January.

perform repairs. I expect approval by Monday & hope to have repairs made &
be on my way again next week.

my forestay is sagging. There are also huge scuff marks and scratching along
my starboard hull, and creosote that rubbed off the channel marker pole.
