Arild's point about lights and concussive sound brings to mind the "flash
bang" grenade used by the SAS and US counter-terrorist units. If one could
be tossed from the cabin to the deck, it would achieve surprise and give you
a few seconds to act before the pirates reoriented themselves. I have seen
German 37mm flash bang flares advertised in newspapers devoted to guns. Chay
Blyth used these to wake up people on the bridges of freighters when it
looked like they would run him down. The grenades would be best - if you
knew where to purchase them.

The combination of blinding lights and concussion of sound would
momnetarily stop them and give you the advantage.
And tthey lose the element of surprise under cover of darkness.
