Not very effective unless you insulated the stanchions and lifelines from
the hull. while guaranteeing the boarders also connect to the other side
of your hi voltage supply.
A better deterrent would be very poweful bright lights and one of those
120Db burglar alarms.
The combination of blinding lights and concussion of sound would
momnetarily stop them and give you the advantage.
And tthey lose the element of surprise under cover of darkness.
