Well, this is new news. Interesting. It just instensifies the debate
about whether you should carry firearms aboard boats. Or in your home.
I guess the questions is: should you roll over and take it or not?
Whether it is a robbery, or a rape? Or ?
Personally, if I have to go out, I'd rather do it fighting. But that's
my opinion, I could be wrong...

attached mail follows:
Pirates that shot and killed Sir Peter Blake (world famous New
Zealand Yachtsman) on his boat say they acted in "self defense"
according to a report in this weekend's Globe and Mail (Toronto
edition).
Apparently seven masked gunmen boarded and robbed Sir Blake's boat -
anchored in the Amazon river delta - under cover of darkness and did
not expect resistance from the crew. Sir Blake, however, tried to
defend his boat and crew by shooting at the pirates with his rifle.
He shot one of the boarders in the hand. That's when the criminals
felt so threatened that they returned fire - in "self defense" -
wounding two crewmen and killing Sir Blake. Brazilian police have the
pirates in custody and looking for one more accomplice.
