It has to be permanently attached by what ever means you thinks is permanent
and that is up to the boarding officer to decide based upon his knowledge of
the CFR.

Viking attached mine with 5200 to a stringer in the engine room. You don't
normally see them in the cabin area. You could put it there if you want but
as far as I know there is no requirement.
