    I have tried the battery terminal spray as well as those ointments found
    in tubes. Both work equally well except the the spray is more
    convenient to use. The spray also help when it is applied to the cable
    end where the wire may be exposed. This stops the cable from corroding
    too. The red spray is only a few dollars and last a very long time.

    Since auto batteries corrode too, even with adequate ventilation, it may
    be that ventilation has little to do with the process of corrosion.
    Also, sealed batteries that I use in my alarm business also end up with
    corroded terminals. Some times the positive fails while other times it
    is the negative. I use the auto spray on them as well to prevent
    premature terminal failure.
