After only 3 1/2 years of owning Evening Star I am going to sell. I tried
everything possible to avoid this but there is no way that I can get my
wife to join me beyond a windless day sail on the water. At 12 knots of
wind the conditions are to rough for her and that's down wind. It's the
sheets, the heeling, the work that a none sailor sees that takes the
enjoyment out of it for her. So after many long conversations in an effort
to avoid attorney fees and another start up relationship, I am moving into
the world of TRAWLERDOM.
I am to much of a traditionalist to move completely into power boating. I
have no real desire to get anywhere quickly. I enjoy being on the water
more than I do on land. So trawlers seem like the compromise I must make
in my life.
I have spent only a small amount of time on one trawler and immediately
noticed that lack of commune with the environment. After an hour I was
wondering if I should have taken a book along. But when we arrived at our
destination when we said we would my eyes opened up to what will become my
new way of life; planning. Seems you can pin down arrivals times. It
offers more room for Joyce to feel secure and doesn't require hoisting,
pulling lifting of any sheets or gear.
feel free to tell me all your own personal histories I deserve what ever
you send my way. I know a stronger man would have gone to divorce court
before selling Evening Star. I guess I still love her smile...
As time goes on I will fill you in on the sale and purchase of the next boat.
